Update August 30, 2012:
WorldMate has added hotel price alerts to its app for free and paid iPhone apps. After a customer stores a hotel booking in their WorldMate profile, the app automatically monitors rates, alerting the user whenever the hotel slashes its price for the travel dates. Regardless of where the user made the reservation, he or she will be notified if a comparable room at the same hotel — or a similar property close by — is offering a better value. Users can cancel and re-book within the app or via a link from a WorldMate e-mail.

WorldMate covers all you’ll need while travelling. It keeps a record of your itinerary, forecasts the weather, provides a currency converter and lets you book hotels through the free app. Then there are the very handy travel notifications, which update you on the weather and what’s planned for the day.

Some of the main features of the Gold version ($3.99 – iTunes) of this app are:

  • Real-time Flight Status
  • Currency converter
  • Weather Forecasts
  • World Clocks
  • Tip Calculator
  • Flight Search
  • Hotel Search
  • Automated flight alerts
  • Itinerary Manager
