The looks:

If you find yourself in a Chinese restaurant with a menu in Mandarin or simplified Chinese script, then you would want this simple app that reads the characters and translates in plain English. The translation iOS app makes life easier for travelers by using optical character recognition to read menu items written in Chinese characters.

Unlike other OCR apps out there that function as a dictionary, this is a translator. It looks at a string of characters and gives you a meaningful translation, rather than individual character definitions

Taking only 8MB on your device, this is ideal if you don’t feel like installing a full dictionary app. It captures characters via the iPhone’s camera if you hold it close and use the zoom feature.

Waygo doesn’t recognize stylized fonts, calligraphy or handwriting or vertically-arranged characters.
