Flying these days is not fun when you have to deal with baggage fees, security lines and being stuck in a terrible seat. This is where Jets come in. It’s a very slick and very well-designed app that tells you what kind of aircraft your flight will be using and what the best seats are on your flight.

Search by flight number, plane model or airlines. The seats are color coded – blue for standard, green for good, yellow for okay and red for bad – which makes the quality seats easily identifiable and the interface takes some visual cues from airports and airlines so it’s a beaut to use. With to-the-point advice, this app will tell you which seats have extra leg room, which cannot recline or which will give you a chill. A must-have app to check out before selecting your seats on that long-haul flight you’re about to take.

The interface is very friendly and looks great with useful information. Jets contains information for 91 airlines, 540+ aircraft.

Website: provides a similar service, with a lot more information on seats – power outlets, closet locations, accessible from toilets, etc., and they have a free app for iPhone.
