Asknative for the iPhone is a social knowledge sharing platform aiming to connect you with people to share matching interests, and sending your questions over to the right person having interest in answering your question, and always supplying you with travel tips coming from your friends, natives, and ex-travelers.

It is an app to get answers on any random travel-related question you may have about any destinations worldwide. Simply type in the city you have a question about, and ask your question! Hopefully some locals will respond. This is an alternative to TripAdvisor and ThornTree forums where city group members and experts all your queries.

One of the great feature of this app is the “Traveler Mode” – that will not load images to conserve data usage, but will only load those that were previously downloaded. This is a great feature for travelers on roaming data networks, or slower networks.

Select a preferred language and all the communication, questions and answers will be translated in your selected language. This makes it easy for you to answer questions in a foreign language than yours. You need to have Twitter turned on to be able to answer or ask questions (no Facebook?) Once you’ve signed-up you can add friends or ‘companions’, view activity, send and receive messages and do more.
