PocketSights is a simple app that lists various walking tours in the places you are visiting. Just select your destination and look at the list of free roaming tours or walking tours available in that area.

Tap on the selected tour of your interest and you will see the highlights, total walking time it’d take, a map of the tour and places of interests on that tour. Tapping on “Start tour” will position you on the map at the starting point (even if you’re not in the city) and help you navigate through the tour.

This is a great idea for anyone visiting a new city to go on suggested walking tours. The app is brand new to don’t expect to find a lot of tours yet, and you can sign up on their website and create your own tour that others can enjoy. Although the weird thing is if you signed up using your email address on the desktop version (website), you don’t have the option to login using that email address on the app!

All in all a great app for walking tours, but it would be great to see more details on the places you are about to visit on a tour – in terms of opening/closing times, costs (to see a museum, etc.) and anything else one must know before, or even while visiting.
