We have all used ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft to reach the airport and it is definitely cheaper than using a taxi, especially in cities like Los Angeles. But the problem is to get home from the airport – most ride-sharing apps don’t allow that because of airport restrictions. Although it is possible to get Uber for airport pickup, it’s not easy to do so.

Now, Wingz is a new ride-sharing app that offers airport pickups too. It works the same way as Uber or Lyft, but has fixed pricing based on distance. And the price doesn’t change if you’re stuck in traffic!

The prices are competitive too – for example, a taxi from my home to LAX usually costs about $30 including tips, an Uber ride will cost about $15, and Wingz will cost $29 fixed price. This is where Uber wins, but when you consider the return trip, Wingz is the clear winner!

One of the best feature of Wingz is you can book your trip from an airport to home for a future date, and the app allows you to pick you arrival flight indicating the driver about your tentative pick-up time.

Currently available for airports at San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles area, San Diego, Chicago and Phoenix only, the service is expected to expand to other airports around the nation and perhaps internationally.
