Concierge Cup Brazil – iOS app review
Bang for buck: It’s free!
Ease of use:
The FIFA World Cup starts in two days and Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism has come up with free apps of all the cities where the games are being played. Apps are available for the following cities:
- Rio de Janeiro
- Belo Horizonte
- São Paulo
- Porto Alegre
The landing screen shows options like introduction, tips, attractions, hotels and restaurants. Tapping on individual items shows detailed data:
Information lists only a few lines as an introduction to the city. Tips give you high-level introduction to how to reach the city from the airport and the transportation around the city; along with where to see the games (with ticket pricing, etc.) and how to reach the venue.
Attractions lists all the sights-to-see in the city, whereas hotels and restaurants section lists the same. Every listing has a rating, picture, telephone number, address and more information like price and timings.
General data section gives you timezone, currency, climate, visa documents and embassy details which can be handy for currency rates and websites of various government organizations.
While viewing any attractions, hotels or restaurants, you can favorite them and then go to the ‘My Trip’ tab to setup itineraries for each day. Select the time of day (morning, afternoon, evening, etc.) when you want to visit that place and the app will tell you approximately how long you would need at that place.
The listing of attractions on the map is broken (at least for Rio) and does not display them on the map.
All in all, these are great apps for your visit to Brazil during the month of the greatest sport in the world.
