GonnaGo – iOS app review

The looks:

The latest travel app called GonnaGo claims to save itineraries and share them with friends on Facebook. After a quick test, we don’t really see a purpose of this app! You add a trip, say “My Japan Trip”, add friends from Facebook and then start adding the ‘cards’ which are basically cities and dates you will be visiting on that trip.

We added ‘Tokyo’ and then added ‘Kyoto’ with dates in a sequential order. But when you tap the map, it showed two lines – one from our hometown to Tokyo and another from hometown to Kyoto! Yes, you read the right – both of them starting from hometown to the two cities. Does this mean the app is trying to tell us that we have to fly back to our hometown from Tokyo and then go to Kyoto?! Since the map cannot be zoomed-in, we did not notice the line between Tokyo and Kyoto.

Moreover, the app doesn’t give any useful information on any cities or anything at all. Sharing the itinerary doesn’t make any sense when my family & friends on Facebook will never know what my ‘itinerary’ looks like.

There are a lot of apps out there that lets you save your itineraries with all the details; and then share it with friends on Facebook and other social media.

All in all, we think this is simply a useless app! Glad it’s free!
