Put your trip on a TripLine map

March 29, 2013

Planning a trip can be difficult but if you have someone else almost does it for you then it can be a good start at least. Things like how to get there, what to do and where to eat on a particular day are important for any travel planning. And if those itineraries have pictures attached to each event, then they do help making decisions.

Tripline allows anyone to create an interactive, embeddable map detailing a trip using their destinations. Just create a timeline of all the places you will be visiting within a country or city and tag each stop with descriptions of your activities and include images as well. Don’t know where to start? You can browse through a lot of travelers’ trips to help you get started and give ideas for better planning.

Click on any points in the map and you will see where your friend traveled to, but also a way to find out what they did in a particular destination.

The most obvious use is to be able to share itineraries and trips with anyone easily and visually. You can connect with Facebook to add any of your friends who went on the trip with you. And you can create maps from just your Foursquare checkins and or geo-enables Tweets. Tripline allows you to list and record an itinerary both in the planning process and post-vacation, in the sharing process.
