Launched by Twitter a month ago, Vine is a simple app that allows you to take 6-second looping videos [#6SecFilms #6secondpostcard] on your smartphone. This is a the latest hot digital phenomenon allowing you to share travel experiences and local hotspots.

It’s not easy to embed the videos on a website, but here’s a good tutorial.

Photos are great, but add the motion and sound elements and you have a Vine! You can take a photo of Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco and all you get is a frozen moment, but 6 seconds of video captures the sounds of life — laughing, talking, marching — and the movement of life. We all post Instagram pictures of that delicious calamari on the table; add the steam out of it and sounds of the restaurant and you have a more lively picture.
