Tour with locals in Asian countries with Voyagin

March 22, 2013

Traveling to Asia and looking for specific organized tours? Most travelers to Asian countries face one major hurdle – language, so for all of you looking to experience the cities and towns of Asia through a local’s eye then head over to Voyagin.

Voyagin seeks to give you a more intimate look at five Asian countries – Japan, India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Similar to ClipTheTrip, Tripomatic, TourRadar and many other websites that offer organized tours by locals, Voyagin concentrates on the five Asian countries.

Locals apply to become hosts by submitting an application and being certified by chatting with a member of Voyagin’s team; and list their tours on the website. There are currently about 400 listings and the site makes money by taking a 15 percent cut plus a $3 service fee when a booking is made.

One of the good things about Voyagin is that the team has met 90 percent of its hosts in person, so you can trust the ‘tour operators’ for a good time. Each tour has an in-depth information with costs, length of time and profile of the operator.

We do hope to see Voyagin expand to more Asian countries soon.
