Priceline launches ‘Tonight-Only’ hotel deals for iOS

Priceline's Tonight-Only feature

Travel company has launched a new application for hotel reservations called Tonight-Only Deals, available on iPhone and iPod touch.

The new app lets travelers get last-minute deals on hotels starting that same night in 34 cities including Fort Lauderdale. Travelers can make reservations for up to four nights.

The app is part of’s Hotel & Rental Car Negotiator app for iPhone users. It is not yet available for Android phones.

The new service shows the names of available Tonight-Only Deals at 3-star and 4-star hotels with descriptions, maps, photos, rates and percentage discounts. It also shows customer satisfaction scores and reviews generated by guests who have stayed there. Users peruse hotel options for one of 34 cities with descriptions, maps and even some Priceline user reviews before making an instant booking. There’s no blind booking or bidding here; fixed rates are last-minute offers the travel site negotiates with hotels, Priceline’s Brian Ek says.

Tonight-Only Deals displays three hotel options and prices — no bidding involved — at 11 a.m. local time daily that can be booked until 11 p.m.

Cities where the deals can be found include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Honolulu, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Fe and Washington DC. More cities will be added later, the company said.
