Carrying porn to Australia? Declare!

October 19, 2010

If you’re travelling to Australia, make sure not to carry any pornographic material on your computer or otherwise, unless it’s a legal copy! According to new rules applicable by the Australian Customs, any illegal pornographic material should be declared upon arrival in the country.

Not sure what’s legal or illegal? Don’t worry because you’re not the only one to be confused by these new rules. Adelaide Now website reports that visitors have been ordered to reveal illegal pornography to customs officers in a move which has been criticised as “totally confusing” and an invasion of privacy.

The rule of thumb, in this case, is to:
– declare any pornographic material you may be carrying.
– when in doubt, just declare!
